United Preference COO Speaks At AHIP Consumer Experience Forum In Philadelphia July 18-19

Tuesday, July 16th, 2013

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) July 01, 2013

United Preference, the leading administrator of health and wellness incentives via tailored prepaid reward cards (http://www.unitedpreference.com/working.html), today announced that Chief Operating Officer Pamela Hall will be a featured speaker as part of AHIP’s Enhancing The Consumer Experience With Health Plans Forum in Philadelphia, PA July 18-19 (see: http://www.ahip.org/Conferences/CEFTwoJuly2013/)

Joined on a panel that also features Stuart Slutzky, Chief of Product Innovation for Humana Vitality, and Eric Steager, Director Corporate and Business Development, Independence Blue Cross, the conference session will examine ways to more efficiently administer incentives to achieve better overall results for traditional health care and emerging care delivery models.

United Preference administers wellness incentives and other wellness benefits dollars more efficiently with its Tailored Spend Payments Platform and Prepaid Cards (http://www.unitedpreference.com/currency.html). Directly partnered with Discover Financial Services, the company’s Prepaid Cards are accepted at over nine million retail locations nationally. United Preference then “tailors” acceptance of its cards so they can only be used to purchase items like healthy foods and supplements conducive to a healthy lifestyle; or pay for health related services, including doctor office co-pays, fitness clubs, weight loss programs, and health coaching.

Health Plans and Employers determine their wellness program design and vendor partners. Health plan members and employees then access their wellness incentive and benefit dollars using a Tailored Prepaid Card. A single card is used to administer one or multiple wellness incentives and/or benefits. Program analytics track and measure every dollar spent across all programs, enabling clients to refine program structure and design, and optimize impact on engagement and behavior change. The Michaels Organization’s Revitalization of Hawaii’s Towers of Kuhio Park Wins National Award for Excellence

Tuesday, July 16th, 2013

Marlton, NJ (PRWEB) July 09, 2013

The Michaels Development Company’s $ 135 million renovation of Hawaii’s largest public housing community, The Towers of Kuhio Park, has been presented with a 2013 Vanguard Award from the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA).

The massive revitalization, undertaken in partnership with The Hawaii Public Housing Authority and The Vitus Group was recognized for demonstrating an exceptionally creative and innovative solution to an affordable housing challenge.

“We are very proud to receive this honor from NAHMA,” said Ava Goldman, president of Michaels Development Company, who noted that rehabilitation of The Towers was Michaels’ largest single-phase development ever. “It’s a wonderful feeling to be recognized, and the best part of all is knowing what a difference this effort has made in the lives of the residents and the community of Kuhio Park,” Goldman said.

The rehabilitation of Kuhio Park’s 555 units marked the first public-private partnership in Hawaii to transform public housing and included major infrastructure upgrades at the two 16-story towers as well as interior improvements.

Each unit received new interior finishes, flooring, windows, doors, energy efficient appliances, plumbing and electrical fixtures. To increase living space and natural lighting, each apartments lanais were enclosed. The renovation also included reconfiguring 33 apartments for handicap accessibility and creating 12 units specially designed for those with visual and hearing impairments.

Mistwood Golf Club Re-Opens with Improved Features and New Performance Center

Monday, July 15th, 2013

Romeoville, IL (PRWEB) July 01, 2013

All things are a go now at Mistwood Golf Club, the premier 18-hole golf facility in Romeoville, IL., which has undergone some exciting new changes over the past two years. With a multi-million dollar renovation of the course and the construction of a state-of-the-art Performance Center, Mistwood can now take its place as one of the elite public golf facilities in Chicago.

The long-time home of the prestigious Illinois Womens Open golf tournament, Mistwood closed early the last two years enabling Michigan based golf course architect Ray Hearn, the course’s original designer, to complete his renovation work and make strategic improvements to the course.

The major improvements involved performing renovation work on each of Mistwoods 18-holes in terms of shot value and strategy. The most noticeable was at the par-5 third hole where the green has been relocated to create space for a future clubhouse, and a double fairway added creating an exciting risk-reward opportunity. The creek that used to be in front of the green is now behind itand it has been expanded into a pond that guards the entire right side of the hole and three sides of the green.

In addition, beautiful Lannon stone walls were added along holes No. 3, 7, 8, 9 14, 15, and 16 providing stunning visuals for golfers to experience. Other improvements included repositioning tee boxes and bunkers, adding new high quality bunker sand, lengthening the course to 7,040 yards, and adding fescue grasses throughout the course.

Mistwoods renovation also included the addition of 20 stacked sod-wall bunkers. These unique and impressive bunkers are not seen in traditional American golf, but they are a trademark hazard for courses in Scotland and Ireland–and now Mistwood.

I couldnt be happier with how everything has come together on this project and believe we now have one of the top and most unique golf experiences in the Chicago area, said owner Jim McWethy. The work that Ray did incorporating the sod bunkers and the improvements he made to each hole are spectacular.

Not only is the course ready for a big season, but the long-awaited 5,000 square-foot Mistwood Performance Center will likely become the talk of the Chicago golf scene in the near future.

This is not your typical Performance Center, as the Irish themed stone architecture and warm dark wood interior features a full-service bar along with eight flat-screen televisions, making it a great place to hang out and practice. Golfers will also be able to stop there between nines or after their round, since the facility is also serving as a halfway house.

The Mistwood Performance Center includes a wonderful combination of 11 climate controlled stations, two indoor heated bays for year round practice, and 32 outdoor stations, along with a custom club-fitting room, putting room, and a repair and club-building center.

Add in high-tech teaching aids like TrackMan ball flight analysis, SAM Putt Lab and Quintic ball motion putting analysis, and a re-designed driving range makes the Mistwood Performance Center one of the leading game improvement facilities in the country.

A lot of thought has gone into this project, and the architect (Elmhurst-based Daniel Wohlfeil Design) hit a home run. We now have a year-around facility and can host any type of event we want, said Phillips.

Mistwood is no stranger to hosting big golf tournaments, major corporate events and large golf outings. It is already home to the Illinois Womens Open (July 31-Aug 2), and the American Junior Golf Associations Midwest Players Championship just concluded this week. The AJGA signed on to host the event at Mistwood through 2016.

What Mistwood owner Jim McWethy has done with the entire facility since taking over ownership in 2004 is extraordinary, especially given the tough economic times that saw most courses cutting back rather than expanding.

“A big part of this renovation was due to my love of the game, McWethy admitted. By expanding, we did run counter to the rest of the golf world, but I feel it was worth it in order to position Mistwood among the very best golf experiences in the country. If you have an exceptional product, market it well, and take great care of your customers, — even in this market — you can be successful and we are doing that at Mistwood.
